On 28 September 1960, the Republic of Cuba becomes the first Latin-American country to establish diplomatic relations with China. This mutually beneficial relationship signifying friendship & corporation between China & Cuba continued to deepen & strengthen in 2010, with dynamic exchanges & cooperation in various fields.

The two countries celebrated the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties with exchanges of congratulatory messages between President Hu Jintao & Premier Wen Jiabao of China and President Raul Castro of the Cuban Council of State at the end of September 2010.

To commemorate this 50 years of diplomatic relations between Cuba & China, Habanos SA created this special cigar – Bolivar Distnguidos – as a China Edition Cigar for 2010.
